Baixa de Coimbra has 237 vacant properties

The Coimbra municipal executive identified 237 vacant properties in the Baixa (downtown) of the city. This information comes within the scope of an urban rehabilitation process of this historic area.

The council has already notified the owners of 60 buildings that are degraded. The objective is to force the owners to carry out conservation or rehabilitation works on the buildings.

The notifications are part of a broader intervention strategy in the Baixa de Coimbra, which aims to revitalize this area of the city and combat real estate abandonment.
