The Public Prosecution Service accused a duo of aiding illegal immigration in the Elvas area. The defendants promoted the entry into Portugal of foreign citizens in irregular situations in the country.
The suspects recruited victims with promises of document regularization, attracting foreigners with the prospect of being in a legal situation in Portugal.
The objective of the illegal activity was to exploit the immigrants' labor and obtain economic benefits from this labor exploitation.
The case was developed in the Elvas region, in the Portalegre district, and the Public Prosecution Service proceeded with the formal accusation of the two defendants.
