A 70-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police, through the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Directorate, on suspicion of sexual crimes against four children and a crime of child pornography. The facts are said to have occurred between 2022 and 2025, in a neighborhood context, in the locality of Belas, in the municipality of Sintra. The victims are currently four, 10, 11 and 16 years old.
The investigation began after two of the minors revealed the alleged abuse to someone they trusted. The information triggered actions by the authorities, which allowed them to gather solid evidence that justified the suspect's arrest.
The detainee was brought before first judicial interrogation at the Sintra Court, and was placed under the precautionary measure of preventive detention. The Judicial Police do not rule out the possibility of other victims and continue the investigation to clarify all circumstances of the facts.
