The president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, asked this Tuesday the European Union to give a "forceful" response to Morocco's use of migratory pressure to "undermine the integrity" of Ceuta through the massive entry of migrants.
Vivas considered that a cooperation policy between Brussels and Rabat must "start from respect", defending that Morocco should not use the migratory issue as a political instrument against Spanish territory.
The president of the Spanish autonomous city spoke in a context of migratory tension, after the arrival of a large number of migrants to the city of Ceuta, which borders Morocco in northern Africa.
Vivas's statement comes as a direct appeal to the European Union to intervene and condemn Morocco's actions, considering that the country is using migratory pressure as a form of geopolitical pressure.
