Victor Hugo Pontes is the artistic director of Teatro Nacional São João and advocates that one of his priorities is to create programming dedicated to childhood and youth, with the aim of forming new audiences for theatre.

The director states that he is interested in dialoguing with younger audiences so that they develop the habit of attending theatres. This vision is integrated into his strategy for the space he directs.

Among his most recent projects, Victor Hugo Pontes presented the play "Falsas Histórias Verdadeiras: Uma Pina Colagem", which has already been staged at the theatre.

For March 2027, the premiere of "Spring Awakening" is planned, the next production of Teatro Nacional São João under his artistic direction.
