The first days of Rock in Rio 2026 were marked by climate variations, with a sunny Friday followed by a rainy weekend and holiday. The festival took place at the City of Rock, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro, and presented a diversity of attractions that included Foo Fighters shows at Palco Mundo, Roupa Nova at Palco Sunset with a nostalgic performance, British Bring Me the Horizon mixing metal, electronic and pop, the magnetism of BaianaSystem and the outdoor dance floor led by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.

The 2026 edition is the 11th of the festival in Rio de Janeiro, living up to the roots established in its debut in 1985. The event also featured hi-tech screens as part of its technological structure.

The party resumes this week with a diverse lineup. On Friday, the highlight is K-pop with performances by NEXZ, Hwasa and Stray Kids. On Saturday, J Balvin, Demi Lovato and Maroon 5 take the stage. Sunday closes the week with Ivete Sangalo, Zara Larsson and Twenty One Pilots.

The audience that passed through the City of Rock lived varied experiences during the first days, from the infallible energy of the Foo Fighters to the different sounds and styles presented by international and national artists.
