Rafa Nadal, 40 years old, gave a new interview to CNBC in which he reflected on the changes in consumption and savings priorities in recent years, especially among the new generations. The former tennis player noted that people's financial behavior has changed significantly compared to the past.
According to Nadal, previously many people made an effort to save with the goal of buying a house or a car, which were considered important milestones of personal and financial achievement. That was the prevailing mindset in terms of long-term economic planning.
However, the Roland Garros champion explains that today this mindset has changed and that people now give more weight to the value of experiences, travel and learning about new cultures. The younger generations seem to prioritize quality of life and experiences over the accumulation of traditional material goods.
The interview was given in the context of Nadal's reflections on social and economic transformations, where the Spanish player shared his perspective on how contemporary society has reevaluated the concept of success and well-being in terms of consumption and personal priorities.
