Sale of Amancio Ortega's stake in REN to Parpública completed after TdC approval

Pontegadea Inversiones, Amancio Ortega's investment company, concluded this Monday the sale of the 13.7% stake it held in REN to Parpública, formalizing the deal that had already been announced in August. The operation was completed after the approval of the Court of Accounts, which was the suspensive condition provided for in the purchase and sale contract. The Portuguese government revealed the intention for the State to re-integrate the capital of the company responsible for managing the national energy networks, through Parpública. The amount of the transaction was not officially disclosed. With this operation, Pontegadea ceased its position as a qualified shareholder, no longer holding any shares or voting rights in REN.
