The owner of Zara, Amancio Ortega, formalized his exit from REN (Rede Elétrica Nacional), after approval by the Court of Auditors. The sale of 13.7% that belonged to his investment firm to the Portuguese State is now closed.
The operation had been announced on August 14, having gone through all necessary regulatory approvals until the final confirmation by the Court of Auditors.
Amancio Ortega's investment firm thus sold its stake in the Portuguese electricity company to the State, completing this transaction that marked the exit of the Spanish businessman from the capital of REN.
