The rain fell heavily over the City of Rock during BaianaSystem's show last Sunday (6), on the Sunset Stage at Rock in Rio. Just after 5:50 PM, the Bahian band took the stage and turned the downpour into part of the experience, with the audience dancing and singing soaked under the heavy rain.
The group blended various rhythms such as afrorock, ijexá, reggae, sound system, and Brazilian popular music, delivering what was described as a celebration of Brazil. The performance was seen as one of the most powerful moments of this Rock in Rio.
Actress from Rio Grande do Norte Alice Carvalho, born in Natal, participated in the show by reciting a poem in "Balacobaco." A artistic partner of BaianaSystem since 2018, she was also among those responsible for directing the show, strengthening the connection between Bahia and Rio Grande do Norte at the event.
