The Spanish Government launched the first portal of the state public housing stock, called CASA 47. This portal aims to centralize and facilitate access to public housing in the country, representing one of the executive's measures to address the housing crisis.
The portal's rental system is indexed to tenants' income, meaning the amount to be paid varies according to the financial capacity of each household. This approach aims to ensure that public housing is accessible to families with different income levels.
The initial contracts offered through the portal have a duration of 14 years, providing greater contractual stability to tenants. This extended duration represents an additional guarantee for those accessing state public housing.
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez defended public intervention in the housing sector as a way to expand supply and guarantee access to housing. This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Spanish executive to reinforce the State's role in housing policy.
