The Social Democratic Party (PSD) criticized the motion of censure presented by Chega against the Government. PSD's parliamentary leader Hugo Soares considered this motion to be "out of touch with reality and fell flat on its face".
Hugo Soares defended that Minister Luís Neves has already given all the necessary explanations on the matter in question, considering that the motion of censure has no basis.
The PSD positioned itself thus against Chega's initiative, expressing support for the Executive and rejecting the censure proposed by the far-right party.
This position by the PSD comes in the context of a political debate between Portuguese parties, where the centrist party chose to defend the Government over the motion presented by Chega.
