The Civil Police investigate as suspicious death the case of Larissa Cruz Morata, 29, found with a gunshot to the head inside a home, in Embu das Artes, in Greater São Paulo. Her husband, identified as Vinícius, is a military police officer and gave testimony before being released. The Scientific Police conducted forensics at the property and tests were requested on the victim's and husband's hands, as well as ballistic tests on the seized weapon and analysis of other traces found at the scene.
According to the police report accessed by the G1 portal, the Military Police were called around 11am on Sunday (6) and found Larissa lying on the bathroom floor, with a gunshot wound to the head. SAMU was called and confirmed her death. The officer told agents that his wife had taken her own life.
The young woman's family, however, disputes the husband's version and suspects she was a victim of feminicide. Family members said Larissa was happy in her marriage and showed no signs of depression or any indication that she might attempt suicide.
