The Public Prosecutor's Office in Vila Nova de Famalicão launched an operation that resulted in the detention of a couple suspected of crimes of sexual abuse of a minor. The woman, 49 years old, and her partner, 56 years old, were arrested for permitting and carrying out sexual abuses on a child.
The mother consented to her partner sexually abusing her underage daughter, a girl who was 13 years old at the time of the facts. The abuses allegedly began at least in April 2025 and continued for a period not yet fully determined.
The man, 56 years old, is the main perpetrator of the sexual abuses committed against the minor, which occurred with the knowledge and consent of the child's mother. The investigation revealed that the mother not only was aware of the acts but actively authorized them.
After the couple's detention, both were subjected to periodic appearances at the police station and a prohibition on contacting each other, a measure imposed by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The case continues to be investigated to determine the full extent of the crimes committed.
