Thousands protest in Berlin against AfD after historic victory in Saxony-Anhalt

Thousands of people demonstrated today at the Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, against the Alternative for Germany (AfD), one day after the historic victory of the far-right party in the regional elections of Saxony-Anhalt.

The participants carried posters with phrases such as "Wir sind mais" ("We are more") and "Nie Wieder ist jetzt" ("Never again is now"), expressing their opposition to the rise of the far-right party.

People of various ages gathered in this central area of the German capital to demonstrate their disagreement with the electoral result that placed the AfD as the winning force in Saxony-Anhalt. The organizers of the action aimed to show that there is a majority in German society that rejects the political positions of the party.
