Kallas steps back and cancels EU Defence working group that included Gomes Cravinho

The head of EU diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, cancelled a Defence working group that was set to be presented and that included former Portuguese minister João Gomes Cravinho. The decision came after some member states deemed the creation of this group inopportune.

This high-level working group had been announced by Kaja Kallas the previous week, coinciding with the day Germany attributed the drone incidents at Leipzig airport to Russia and following an informal meeting of EU Defence ministers in Ireland.
