Bernie Ecclestone, former Formula 1 chief, was arrested this Monday at Tires Aerodrome, in Cascais, during a routine check carried out by the PSP. The police found a weapon in his possession during the search.

The businessman is 95 years old and it is not yet clear whether the weapon was registered or under what circumstances it was found. The arrest occurred during a routine operation by the Portuguese authorities.

This is not the first incident of this kind involving Bernie Ecclestone. In 2022, the former Formula 1 executive had similar problems in Brazil, where he was also arrested for weapon-related issues.
