A first alert dispatch was issued for vegetation occurrences in the municipalities of Porto, Baião, Teixeira and Teixeiró. The alert indicates that the situation involves fire in terrestrial vegetation.
The authorities mobilized 16 operatives to fight the fire, supported by two ground resources and one aerial resource. Aerial resources are frequently used in vegetation fires to complement the work of ground teams.
This type of vegetation occurrence is common in Portugal, especially during the drier months of the year. The mobilization of aerial resources indicates that the authorities consider the situation sufficiently significant to require aerial support.
