Praça de Giraldo, in Évora, hosted on Saturday, September 5, the 45th National Folk Festival, an evening dedicated to music, dance, and Portuguese popular traditions. The event was organized by the Rancho Folclórico Flor do Alto Alentejo, with the support of the Municipality of Évora.

The program began with a parade that took participants from Rua da República to Praça de Giraldo. On stage, four folk groups from different regions of the country performed: the Rancho Folclórico Flor do Alto Alentejo, the Rancho Folclórico Lagoa da Palha from Pinhal Novo, the Rancho Folclórico da Branca from Coruche, and the Rancho Folclórico "Os Camponeses" from São Vicente do Paúl, from Santarém.

The initiative was attended by Helena Ferro, head of the Socio-Cultural Department of the City Hall of Évora, Diogo Estudante, aide to councilor Carmen Carvalheira, Joaquim Godinho, president of the Parish Union of Malagueira and Horta das Figueiras, and Leontina Bastos, from the INATEL Foundation.

The festival reaffirmed the importance of these initiatives in the dissemination, valorization, and preservation of folklore as an expression of Portuguese culture and identity, with Praça de Giraldo well filled to celebrate popular traditions.
