Russia is spending around 25 million euros per hour on the war, a value that represents a new record in military spending. This estimate results from a detailed analysis of the official data from the Russian Ministry of Finance.
The figures were compiled by Janis Kluge, a researcher at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), who analyzed the Russian government's financial documentation. The data was subsequently released by the Kyiv Post newspaper.
This unprecedented level of spending reflects the massive financial effort that Russia has devoted to the conflict, far exceeding the amounts spent in previous periods. Kluge's analysis allows us to gauge the economic impact of the military operation for the Moscow government.
