Xico Andebol finished the José Carlos Correia Tournament in third place, after defeating AA São Mamede in the game for third and fourth place. The Vimaranense team concluded this important preparation moment for the 2026/27 season on a positive note.
The tournament was won by FC Porto B, which defeated CD São Bernardo in the final by the minimum margin, in a closely contested match. The competition brought together four reference teams of national handball – Xico Andebol, FC Porto B, CD São Bernardo and AA São Mamede – providing highly competitive matches at a crucial stage of the pre-season.
The José Carlos Correia Tournament was created in 2021 and pays tribute to one of the most emblematic figures in the history of Xico Andebol and Desportivo Francisco de Holanda, keeping alive the memory of those who deeply marked the development of the sport in Guimarães.
The 2026 edition was also marked by the official presentation of the Xico Andebol senior team to members and fans, a moment that reinforced the connection between the club and its associative community before the official start of the new season.
