Vitória SC completely dominated the podium of the National Absolute Chess Championship, held last week in Maia. The team took the top three places in the competition, demonstrating its hegemony in national chess.
André Sousa, at age 27, won the national absolute title for the seventh time in his career. The Vitória SC player repeated the feat of previous editions, establishing himself as one of the great names in Portuguese chess.
José Bárria and Pedro Gil Silva completed the podium, occupying second and third place respectively, both representing the same club. This result reinforces Vitória SC's strength in the sport.
The title was achieved in ten participations in the championship, which demonstrates André Sousa's consistency and experience over the years in this competition.
