Bernie Ecclestone, former Formula 1 leader, was detained this Monday at Tires Aerodrome, in Cascais. The 95-year-old British businessman was subjected to a routine operation carried out by officers of the PSP Airport Division when he landed in his private jet, having a shotgun in his possession.
According to Correio da Manhã, it is still unknown whether the historic leader, who ran Formula 1 between 1970 and 2017, will be brought before a judge or merely made a formal suspect. Security at the aerodrome has been reinforced, with PSP and PJ operating on a permanent basis at the facilities provided by the Cascais City Council.
Ecclestone lives in Cascais, in a house valued at 40 million euros with an area of 2,000 square meters. The former Formula 1 CEO is also the owner of a private jet of the Dassault Falcon 7X model, valued at approximately 40 million euros.
