Luís Nunes, a driver from Carrazedo de Montenegro, in the municipality of Valpaços, confirmed this weekend the conquest of the eighth consecutive title in the Portuguese Mountain Championship, in the Super Challenge category. The Trás-os-Montes driver drives a Škoda Fabia and won the six rounds already counted for the championship, mathematically securing the title before the final round, in Setúbal.
In Boticas, the dominance was absolute. Luís Nunes won all the runs held throughout the weekend, prevailing both in practice sessions and official runs, in a display of strength in a season marked by competitive excellence.
Competitiveness was once again present in the Mountain races, but Luís Nunes maintained a consistency and speed that was practically unquestionable throughout the entire season, consolidating an extraordinary trajectory that places him among the reference names in Portuguese Mountain racing.
Although the title is already secured and the Setúbal race no longer influences his final classification, Luís Nunes keeps his ambition intact and is preparing to close the season with the same goal that accompanied him throughout the championship: to win again.
