The funk singer's mother, Valquíria Nascimento, known as Val Negra on social media, spoke out demanding respect for her son's memory. "My son is no longer here to respond. But I am here as a mother to demand respect for his memory," she wrote.
The singer died at age 23, on May 16, 2021, after falling from the balcony of the fifth floor of a hotel on the waterfront of Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. Corsato's statement was interpreted by Valquíria as crossing the line in the debate about the case.
