Bernie Ecclestone, former Formula 1 boss, was detained by PSP upon landing in a private jet at Tires Aerodrome, in Cascais. The detention took place during a routine operation carried out by Portuguese police.
The former sports executive was intercepted with a shotgun in his possession. Authorities proceeded with the detention at the aerodrome itself, following the standard procedures for this type of situation.
Ecclestone, who for decades was the central and dominant figure in the organization of the Formula 1 World Championship, was thus subject to legal procedures after the weapon was discovered during security checks at Tires aerodrome.
