The man accused of being a "fake lawyer" began his trial today at the Braga court, after allegedly being caught red-handed practicing law for three decades without possessing the necessary academic qualifications for the profession.
The defendant appeared today at the start of the trial and chose to remain silent, not making any statement about the facts attributed to him.
This case draws attention due to the long period of time during which the suspect may have acted as a lawyer without having the training required by law to practice the profession.
The trial is taking place at the Judicial Court of the Braga district, where the Public Ministry contends that the defendant committed the crime of usurpation of functions for approximately thirty years.
