Bruno Sarmento, researcher at the Institute of Research and Innovation in Health (i3S) at the University of Porto, has been awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the University of Buenos Aires. This university is considered one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Latin America.
The distinction recognizes the scientific and academic career of Bruno Sarmento. The researcher focuses on areas such as drug release, drug delivery systems, and the development of innovative formulations for therapeutic administration.
Sarmento is a lecturer at the University of Porto, where he coordinates the Nanomedicine and Drug Delivery research group at i3S. His work has contributed significantly to the advancement of biomedical research internationally.
This nomination represents an acknowledgment by the Latin American scientific community of the work developed by the Portuguese researcher, while also strengthening the academic ties between Portugal and Argentina.
