The statement indicates an openness to negotiations, but without concrete commitments about when or where they could take place.
In Kiev, on Sunday, Witkoff, a businessman close to US President Donald Trump, stated that Russia and Ukraine "will have to make concessions" to reach a solution that puts an end to the conflict. Zelensky gave a "positive assessment" of the negotiations held during the visit of Trump's envoys.
