Carneiro insists that the Government is winning with the fuel price increases

The Secretary-General of the PS refused to comment on the party's position regarding the motion of censure presented by Chega. During statements to journalists, the socialist leader did not advance what the official position of the party would be regarding this initiative by the right-wing party.

Regarding fuels, Carneiro insisted that the Government is benefiting from the increase in fuel prices. This position comes in a context of political debate about the impact of the Executive's fiscal policy on consumers.

Chega presented a motion of censure against the Government, creating a political situation that requires clear positions from the various parties. The PS, as the main opposition party, finds itself confronted with the need to define its strategy regarding this motion.

The Secretary-General's refusal to pronounce on the motion of censure may indicate a political caution strategy, avoiding commitments that could be used by opponents in upcoming political disputes.
