Two golden eagle chicks were born at the Gaia Biological Park on June 8. The chicks were raised entirely by their parents, as part of a conservation program dedicated to strengthening the population of this threatened species.
The two birds have now been transferred to an acclimatization facility in the Peneda-Gerês National Park, where they will remain until they are ready for their future release into the wild.
The program involves several entities and aims to contribute to the recovery of the golden eagle population, a species that is threatened and requires conservation efforts to ensure its long-term survival.
