The electoral result was celebrated by the European populist right, which saw in the AfD's victory a positive signal for their political aspirations on the continent.

In reaction, the Polish Prime Minister strongly condemned the advance of the German party, referring to its supporters as 'traitors,' at a time when Poland maintains a firm position against far-right movements.

The vote in Saxony-Anhalt highlighted the growing division in Europe regarding the advance of populist and extremist forces, with opposite reactions between the parties that celebrate the result and those that condemn it.
