The study to determine the real costs of Private Institutions of Social Solidarity (IPSS) in the Azores region is delayed. The deadline for delivering the final report ended a month and a half ago, but the document has not yet been delivered to the Azores Social Security Institute.
The Azores Social Security Institute is the entity responsible for coordinating the study. This institution is responsible for collecting and analyzing data relating to the operational costs of IPSS distributed in the archipelago region.
The delay in the study is due to the lack of response from some social institutions in the archipelago. Without the collaboration of these institutions in providing the requested data, the Institute cannot complete the analysis and finalization of the report.
IPSS are private non-profit institutions that provide social solidarity services, including responses such as nursing homes, nurseries and day centers. The determination of real costs is fundamental for defining financing policies and sustainability of these organizations in the autonomous region.
