The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, stated on Monday that setting up tents in the area of the Muelle de Poniente in Ceuta to create an additional 1,000 accommodation places for migrants constitutes "a great irresponsibility." According to Feijóo, this measure hinders the work of the security forces and bodies.
Feijóo considered that this initiative was part of "a plan that ended with some type of concession to Morocco." The PP leader made these statements in the context of the migratory situation in the Spanish city of Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa.
The measure involves the installation of tents around the Muelle de Poniente to expand the city's capacity to accommodate migrants. Feijóo's statement emerges as a critique of the Spanish government's management of the migratory situation.
