The "Vai e Vem" pilot project started today in Guimarães, providing a free transport service that connects the Multiusos Parking Lot to the Hospital da Senhora da Oliveira. The new solution aims to facilitate access to the hospital unit and reduce automobile traffic pressure and parking demand in the surrounding area.
The service will operate Monday to Friday, between 07:30 and 19:30, with a frequency of every 10 minutes. Users can book the trip through a free call to the number 800 50 60 60 or through the Vitrus Ambiente portal, until 3:00 PM the previous day.
The pilot project will be subject to constant evaluation and monitoring until the end of the year, with indicators such as the parking lot's occupancy rate, the volume of passengers transported, demand by time period, and impacts on road traffic being analyzed.
The initiative is part of the municipal strategy to promote more sustainable transport solutions, at a time when Guimarães assumes the role of European Green Capital 2026.
