Union de Leiria beat Portimonense 1-0 in the fifth round of II Liga, thanks to a goal by José Nabil Ondó at the 44th minute. The player appeared at the far post and headed to set the final score.
In the first half, Portimonense wasted two great goal-scoring opportunities. Shoya Nakajima missed a penalty at the 30th minute, after a foul by Hugo Masaki on Tiago Mamede, when goalkeeper Jakob Odehnal made the save. Shortly after, Midana Cassamá found himself one-on-one with the Leiria goalkeeper, but failed to finish.
With this defeat, the Portimonense team dropped to eighth place in the standings and has not won in three consecutive games, collecting seven points.
Portimonense's next match takes place on Saturday, September 12, when they host Tondela, who are on six points.
