Former Prime Minister José Sócrates is suing prosecutor Rosário Teixeira for alleged false statements made in court. The legal action arises within the context of a lawsuit filed by the former politician against the Portuguese State.
The administrative court itself that heard Sócrates' action against the State recognized the existence of a "notorious contradiction" in the prosecutor's statements, which apparently motivated the decision to proceed with this new lawsuit.
