Higher Education. Problems in access and supply

Almost half a million people enrolled in higher education in 2024/2025. This number represents an increase of 30 percent compared to the number of enrollees in the last decade. PORDATA explains this rise by the increase of students in undergraduate and integrated master's degrees. A significant growth was also verified in other levels of higher education. The number of students in higher technical professional courses increased by 5,844 and in doctorates increased by 4,753. The article addresses both the problems in access and in the supply of higher education in Portugal.
