The Lisbon Stock Exchange opened the session this Monday, September 7, in positive territory, with a gain of 0.35% to 9,421.99 points. This rise contrasts with the majority of the main European stock exchanges, which opened in the red. Brent oil exceeded 97 dollars per barrel, influenced by the continuation of attacks between the United States and Iran. Among the biggest gains on the Portuguese stock exchange are EDP Renováveis with 1.90%, Galp Energia with 1.56% and EDP with 0.71%, while CTT fell 2.31% and Jerónimo Martins dropped 0.60%.
The main European stock exchanges opened mostly in the red, with the exception of the Italian and Dutch indices. The German DAX fell 0.03% to 26,040.64 points, the French CAC 40 dropped 0.02% to 8,277.17 points, and the British FTSE 100 slipped 0.11% to 10,819.55 points. The Italian FTSE MIB advanced 0.31% and the Dutch AEX rose 0.02%.
Oil is trading higher, with Brent rising 0.86% to 97.11 dollars and crude gaining 0.71% to 92.13 dollars. This increase is due to the continuation of attacks between the USA and Iran, with at least three American attacks on Iranian ships reported during the weekend, to which Iran responded by attacking three American targets. The euro was down 0.04% against the dollar and 0.11% against the pound.
