More heard in the Assembly while there is a "ray of exit with dignity"

SAPO Notícias7 September 2026 at 08:00

Luís Neves, Minister of Home Affairs, will be heard in Parliament on September 8. The minister took office in February and, since that date, the Government has been under pressure over various controversies.

Political scientist Paula do Espírito Santo commented on the situation to Diário de Notícias, arguing that the best way to "deflate" Chega's message would be to hear the minister in a future Parliamentary Inquiry Committee.

According to the specialist, this hearing should take place "not in his capacity as minister," which suggests a different approach from the one that has been taken so far to respond to opposition criticism.
