Nova SBE rises to 2nd place in world ranking that includes four other Portuguese business schools

SAPO Notícias7 September 2026 at 08:00

Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) achieved second place in the Financial Times world ranking that brings together the best business schools. This rise represents a significant milestone for the Portuguese institution, which now occupies one of the highest positions among European business schools.

In the same ranking, which lists the 100 best business schools in the world, four other national business schools also appear. Iscte, Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, ISEG, and Católica Porto Business School complete the Portuguese representation among the hundred best business schools according to the Financial Times.

This result reflects the growing international recognition of Portuguese business schools, which manage to compete with prestigious world institutions. The presence of five Portuguese schools among the world's top 100 demonstrates the quality of management education available in Portugal.

LVMH shares at lowest level since November 2020

LVMH shares reached on Thursday, September 3, their lowest level since November 2020, trading at 427 euros, with a decline of more than 33% since the beginning of the year and 14% in one year. Analysts point to the main reasons as the stagnation of economic recovery in China, "discouraging" luxury demand from Chinese consumers, the decline in demand from the wealthiest in that country, and fears regarding fiscal measures on offshore wealth. The conflict in the Middle East is also mentioned as a conditioning factor. Bernstein maintains a target price of 570 euros for LVMH, while JP Morgan considers that the outlook for the sector "will not turn positive anytime soon," forecasting weak trends in China until 2027.
