Australia enacted in December a law that prohibits minors under 16 from accessing many social media platforms. This legislation was approved with the objective of protecting young people from online harassment and what the Australian Government classifies as "predatory algorithms." Several countries have followed Canberra's example in implementing similar measures to protect minors in the digital environment.
