Icelandic singer Laufey has an identical twin sister named Júnía Lín Hua Jónsdóttir, who is a violinist and serves as her creative director. The two grew up practically side by side and took their musical partnership into their professional life, working together behind the scenes and on stage.
Laufey performs at Rock in Rio on September 7th, on the Sunset Stage, at 10:45 PM. Music entered the sisters' routine early on, as they are daughters of an Icelandic father and a Chinese mother, a classical violinist.
They were raised in an environment surrounded by instruments and musical references. They studied at the same schools, attended the same lessons, and participated together in musical activities. According to Júnía, until they were 19 they practically shared a single life.
The separation came at university, when each followed different academic paths, but the professional connection between the sisters remains strong to this day.
