Deal sealed: Lorena Comparato will be Carmen Miranda in Bruno Barreto's film

Lorena Comparato was confirmed as the new interpreter of Carmen Miranda in the film "For You to Like Me", directed by Bruno Barreto. The choice comes after the departure of Larissa Manoela from the project, who left the production due to a change in the filming dates. The recordings are scheduled to begin in February.

André Luiz Frambach, Larissa Manoela's husband, is still wanted to play Aloysio de Oliveira, a singer and music producer who had a very close relationship with Carmen Miranda. The change in the schedule also affected the actor's availability for the project.

Bruno Barreto intends to try to keep the actor in the cast, checking if there really won't be space in his schedule. If there is availability, a table read will be done with Lorena Comparato to evaluate if there is chemistry between the two on set.

Aloysio de Oliveira led the musical group that accompanied Carmen Miranda in Brazil and abroad, being an important figure in the artist's career. The film also features other confirmations, including Juliana Didone and Tainá Müller as Hortência and Magic Paula, in addition to Cláudia Abreu being considered for a relevant role in Roberto Carlos' biopic.
