Elton John's return to the stage comes after a sequence of health problems faced by the singer in recent years. The most recent and most publicized episode was a serious infection in one of his eyes, contracted in the summer of 2024, which left the artist with limited vision in the affected eye. At the time, he stated that recovery would be slow.
Months later, Elton revealed that he had lost vision in his right eye and that he also had problems in his left eye. The condition even affected his ability to work: the musician said he had difficulty reading, watching productions, and even recording new music.
The eye problem added to other health complications faced by the artist. In 2017, Elton was diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent surgery. A subsequent infection caused serious complications, marking another difficult chapter in his health trajectory in recent years.
