João Mário, Pedro Gonçalves and Beto left without a coach at Fiorentina

SAPO6 September 2026 at 23:28

Fabio Grosso was sacked from Fiorentina's technical command after a very negative start to the season in Serie A. The Italian coach failed to reverse the disastrous situation of the team in the first rounds of the Italian league.

With this change, three Portuguese players are now without their main coach. João Mário, who arrived at the club in the last transfer window, and Pedro Gonçalves, another Portuguese signing, saw their professional situation change with this change on the bench. Portuguese goalkeeper Beto is also affected by Grosso's departure.

Fiorentina is going through a very difficult moment in the season, occupying low places in the Serie A standings. The start of the season was considered disastrous by the club's board, who decided to dismiss the coach as a way of trying to reverse the situation.
