Leader of Chega congratulates far-right victory in Saxony-Anhalt state

The leader of the Chega party, André Ventura, congratulated the victory of the far-right in the State of Saxony-Anhalt, in Germany. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party won the regional elections held that Sunday.

According to projections released by the German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, AfD achieved 44.5% of the votes, consolidating its position as the dominant force in that federal state located in former East Germany.

The AfD's victory in Saxony-Anhalt represents another step in the expansion of the far-right in Germany, in a context of significant growth of this party in polls and elections at the federal and regional levels.
