Cape Verdean PM promises "serious and thorough" investigation into causes of derailment in Fogo

The Cape Verdean government announced today a "serious and thorough" analysis of the circumstances of the bus accident on the island of Fogo. The investigation will include the conditions of construction, evaluation and supervision of roads.

The Cape Verdean prime minister stated that road construction is a matter that concerns everyone, acknowledging that he is familiar with the process and how things happen in the country.

The official indicated that the gaps in evaluation and supervision in Cape Verdean society are well known, emphasizing that what is lacking is to act and take concrete measures.

The prime minister guaranteed that these measures will be taken by the government.
