Julian Amaral, a 23-year-old young man who was on holiday in Portugal, was found dead in the Tagus river. The body was discovered after a search operation that had been ongoing since Wednesday, when the young man was reported missing.
Julian had participated in a party on a boat in Alcântara, in the Lisbon area, before disappearing. The authorities immediately began the search to try to locate him.
The search operations involved Maritime Police divers, several vessels and also a Portuguese Air Force aircraft, in a joint effort to find the young man alive.
The case had a tragic outcome, with the confirmation of the death of Julian Amaral, whose body was eventually found in the waters of the Tagus.
