The American Beau Welling was re-elected, this Sunday, president of World Curling for a new four-year term. The election took place in Bratislava, during a world congress of the sport.
Portugal was present at the congress and defended the evolution of competitive curling formats in emerging federations, that is, in countries where the sport is still in development.
Beau Welling, from the United States, will thus lead the international curling federation for another four years, after being reconfirmed in the position.
The congress in Bratislava brought together representatives from various national federations and served as a platform for discussion of the future of curling globally, including how the sport can grow in countries where it is not yet fully established.
